Wendy Lea
Chairman, Newmerix and SVP Siebel Consulting
Wendy Lea is the Managing Partner of Chatham Group, an independent consultancy focused on go-to-market strategies for early/mid-stage start-ups. She is also an entrepreneur who has successfully built a global professional services business and an angel investor.
Wendy has been a long-term consultant for Mobius Venture Capital and serves on the boards of several Mobius portfolio companies:
• Newmerix (Boulder, CO) creates enterprise application lifecycle management software for the Oracle/SAP ERP markets. Wendy is Chairman of the Board and served as the interim CEO in 2006 before recruiting the current CEO.
• StillSecure (Superior, CO) creates secure network infrastructure software. Wendy serves on the Advisory Board.
• Stratify (Mountain View, CA) is an eDiscovery services provider to the legal industry. Wendy served on the Board prior to its sale to Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM).
Wendy also serves on three other boards:
• Metallect (Plano, TX) provides advanced software impact analysis tools and services for software development professionals. Through a relationship with SAP Ventures, Wendy serves on the Board of Directors.
• Amazon Consulting (Mountain View, CA).
• Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives (FWEE), an association of experienced professional women involved in the technology industry in Silicon-Valley. She is the chair of strategy committee.
Wendy has been involved in Customer Relationship Management since 1984 - initially in sales training, with Acclivus Corporation (Dallas) as VP Sales and Marketing. In 1992 she joined The Sales Consultancy in the UK, and assisted with its expansion into Europe. While at TSC, Ms. Lea was VP of Marketing and led the firm’s channels and alliances practice. In 1995, she started up The Sales Consultancy in the US.
She co-authored two innovative sales methodologies: CHAMP (Channels and Alliance Management Process) and TMP (Territory Management and Planning). CHAMP and TMP assisted technology providers in executing complex, multi-channel strategies and were adopted as a global standard by leading technology firms such as IBM, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, Microsoft and Oracle. The Sales Consultancy merged with OnTarget in 1998 and was subsequently acquired by Siebel Systems in 1999. Wendy established and led Siebel System’s eBusiness Consulting business unit until 2002.
Wendy is a graduate of the University of Mississippi (1975), cum laude in Business Administration, Marketing major.
Wendy is a mentor to TechStars Enterpreneurs, a start-up fund/incubator in Boulder, CO. She has been a Guest Lecturer at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina. Her philanthropic activities include Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund and The Humane Society.
